Jay-Z is officially taking over the biggest stage in music.
The legendary rapper has been announced as the headliner for the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show, set to take place February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The long-awaited announcement was made Monday night during ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast, putting an end to weeks of speculation surrounding who would headline next year’s show.

The choice carries an interesting twist. Through Roc Nation, Jay-Z has played a major role in shaping the NFL’s music and entertainment strategy since the company partnered with the league in 2019. Roc Nation has helped curate and produce several of the Super Bowl’s recent halftime shows.
Now, Jay-Z will step out from behind the scenes and onto the stage himself.
The performance will arrive more than 30 years after the release of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and adds another major milestone to one of hip-hop’s most influential careers. His catalog includes albums such as The Blueprint, The Black Album and 4:44, along with hits including “99 Problems,” “Run This Town” and “Empire State of Mind.”

Jay-Z recently wrapped a run of anniversary concerts celebrating three decades of Reasonable Doubt, including two shows at SoFi Stadium.
Rumors surrounding the Super Bowl performance had intensified in recent weeks, with Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Harry Styles among the other names reportedly considered for the show.
Jay-Z will follow Bad Bunny, who headlined the Super Bowl LX halftime show in February 2026.
With a career spanning three decades and one of the deepest catalogs in hip-hop, attention now turns to what Jay-Z will bring to the Super Bowl stage and which special guests could potentially join him.
