President Donald Trump said Saturday that he’s not ready to make a deal to end the war with Iran despite the country’s willingness to do so “because the terms aren’t good enough yet,” but declined to say what those terms would be.In a wide-ranging, nearly 30-minute telephone interview with NBC News, the president also said he is working with other countries on a plan to secure the Strait of Hormuz amid surges in global oil prices, and he dismissed Americans’ concerns about rising gas prices since the U.S. and Israel launched their joint military operation two weeks ago.The president also…

Most of the more than two million Palestinians living in the enclave are displaced, living in tents or buildings heavily damaged by the war with Israel. First responders operating under the Hamas-run Interior Ministry warned people to secure their tents to prevent them from being blown away. Sandstorms also present particular health risks to those with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.
Jack Harlow’s new album Monica is out today (March 13), and it’s notable for, aside from being a new Jack Harlow album, taking the artist’s sound in a more R&B-inspired direction. In an interview with New York Times‘ Popcast, Harlow discussed the musical direction of the project, saying: “I love Black music. I love the sound of Black music. And,…

I’m hoping to be doing these more regularly in the future, so if there’s anything that would make them more useful or interesting, please let me know.) The September Jobs Report: Evidence of Past Success, and of Dangers Ahead After a gap caused by the government shutdown, employment numbers are back, albeit a month delayed. The Bureau of Labor Statistics conducted its September surveys as usual, though the October surveys were not. This will have longer-term repercussions for U.S. economic data, but…
In his top post at the Department of Homeland Security, David Harvilicz sets policy on protecting the nation’s elections infrastructure, including voting machines. He’s also the co-founder of a company with James Penrose, who helped hatch debunked conspiracy theories blaming hacked voting machines for Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 presidential election. Penrose assisted in a push to seize voting machines to overturn Trump’s defeat. On social media, Harvilicz has called for doing away with voting machines, saying they are “eminently vulnerable to exploitation.” In a March post, he wrote that “DHS needs to ban voting machines for all federal…
