WASHINGTON — The White House has drafted legislative text for its drug pricing policy, and officials are in the process of sharing it with more than a dozen major pharmaceutical companies, according to people familiar with the meetings. The legislative text, according to a White House official, closely follows the outlines of the voluntary deals the administration made with pharma companies. The draft includes a policy that would allow drugs purchased in cash to count toward a patient’s deductible. The Trump administration’s push for drug price legislation is part of a larger effort to get health reforms signed into law.…
WASHINGTON — Cage-match fighting is coming to the White House to fete President Donald Trump, a proud proponent of cage-match politics. In the coming weeks, crews will erect a 6-foot wire-mesh fence shaped into an octagon on the lawn, where UFC fighters will use a combination of kickboxing, jiujitsu, wrestling and other martial arts in a June 14 mixed martial arts show timed for Trump’s 80th birthday and as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary. The celebration of bloody, brute force dovetails with Trump’s gleefully combative charisma and extreme ideological masculinity — a brawling, no-holds-barred approach to the highest office in…

The two biggest offseason acquisitions by the two-time defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers are paying dividends already.Edwin Diaz earned his first save in his debut and outfielder Kyle Tucker singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning of a 5-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night.Diaz trotted out in the ninth to the sounds of trumpeter Tatiana Tate, who tooted from the stands next to the left field bullpen. For years, Utah allowed government officials to do something other states banned: ask a person who reports a sexual assault to take a polygraph test. That will change soon. Earlier this month, state lawmakers passed a bill that prohibits police and other government officials from requesting polygraph tests for alleged sex assault victims. Gov. Spencer Cox signed it into law on Thursday, and it goes into effect in May. Experts say these tests are known to be especially unreliable with victims of sexual abuse. That’s because victims may have stress and anxiety recounting their assault that the polygraph may interpret…
The world is now facing price rises and perhaps even shortages for energy and food that are already baked in — and that’s if the conflict ended tomorrow. “The Iran crisis is an epoch-defining event, similar in scale to the fall of the Berlin Wall or 9/11,” believes Peter Frankopan, a professor of global history at the University of Oxford. “The cascades coming towards us all are epic in scale, even if peace is agreed today,” he told NBC News in an interview. The U.S. and Israel launched their assault at 1:15 a.m. ET on Feb. 28, an attack Trump has…
