Climate-change activists haven’t run out of steam yet, but the formerly red-hot movement is looking increasingly gassed. President Trump has taken a sledgehammer to the global-warming apparatus as he supercharges oil-and-gas development; Europe is walking back its net-zero emissions targets; and climate guru Bill Gates shook the movement last year by repudiating its “doomsday” scenarios. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, wants to delay the state’s ambitious 2030 emissions targets, arguing that they cannot be met without saddling residents and businesses with “new and additional crushing costs.” Even Greta Thunberg has moved on. The world’s best-known climate activist has…
WASHINGTON — Steve Ubl is stepping down as CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America after more than a decade leading the brand drug industry’s main trade group. Ubl plans to depart by the end of the year and will remain in his position until a new leader is found, according to a PhRMA statement. Ubl led the organization during tumultuous times that included the Covid-19 pandemic and aggressive political attacks on drug prices. Democrats passed a law directing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, and the Trump administration struck voluntary deals with individual drugmakers aimed at lowering U.S.…

More than 400,000 Arizonans have lost their SNAP benefits since July — the largest decline in the nation by a wide margin — as an underfunded state agency administered changes called for in President Donald Trump’s so-called One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The drop represents nearly 47% of the state’s participants in the program better known as food stamps and includes about 180,000 children, according to the Arizona Department of Economic Security, which administers the program. On Wednesday, the nonpartisan Center on Budget and Policy Priorities released data through February showing that the reduction in Arizona has far outstripped other…
“The Black List” is well known among film buffs, but for those who aren’t familiar, it’s an annual survey that aims to determine the most-liked screenplays that have yet to be made into movies. In 2024, screenwriter Travis Braun made some history when One Night Only was the most-mentioned film on the list, as he was the first writer to ever top the list in consecutive years (his Bad Boy led the 2023 list). Well, the film is no longer eligible for The Black List, as it was announced last summer that gears were officially turning on the project, with…

Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, gave a rundown Wednesday of the food — and the copious amounts of caffeine — that U.S. military personnel consumed during the Iran war.»Along the way, we consumed more than 6 million meals, and by my estimate, more than 950,000 gallons of coffee, 2 million energy drinks, and a lot of nicotine,» he said, adding: «But I am not saying that we have a problem.»On a more serious note, Caine expressed his gratitude for the service and sacrifice made by U.S. forces during Operation Epic Fury. «This is gritty and unforgiving…
