OurHouse to include school-age children in its proposition

OurHouse, which operates family clubs combining fitness and wellness, co-working, childcare, play and hospitality, is expanding its offer for older children as it looks to evolve the model and retain families for longer.

The group currently operates Jaego’s House in Kensal Rise and Jesse’s House in Parsons Green and is introducing a new programme spanning childcare, enrichment and tuition.

The expanded proposition will include an Ofsted-registered Kids’ Club for children aged five and above, offering after-school childcare alongside activities including sports simulators, construction workshops, science projects, arts and crafts and outdoor play. After-school collection from selected local schools will also be available at some locations.

For children aged eight and above, OurHouse is introducing an Explorer Pass, designed to give older children greater autonomy to access cinema rooms, games areas and dedicated social spaces, alongside supervised fitness activities and classes.

Children aged four to 13+ will also have access to enrichment courses, individual academic tuition and school placement support, extending the role of the clubs beyond childcare, leisure and fitness.

Charlie Gardiner, founder of OurHouse, says the changes have been developed in response to member feedback: “We asked almost 200 families what they needed as their children grew up, and it wasn’t more soft play. It was independence and structured programmes for older children and a little breathing room for parents.

“We’re not interested in building a club that families grow out of. We’re building one that grows up with them.”

The move adds another dimension to a business model which was originally conceived to solve some of the logistical pressures faced by working parents by bringing childcare, workspace, exercise and family leisure together in one location.

As HCM reported in 2024, Jesse’s House was developed around this ‘workspace meets workout’ proposition, with a gym and studios sitting alongside an Ofsted-registered nursery, children’s facilities, workspace, restaurants and social areas.

OurHouse – previously known as Little Houses Group – is now in a significant expansion phase. Blackstone invested in the business in 2025 to fund its growth, ending its previous investment partnership with leisure and lifestyle investor Imbiba.

The value of the Blackstone investment was not disclosed in HCM’s original report, but OurHouse has since confirmed it as £100m. Imbiba said its exit from the business generated a three-times return in less than two years.

The funding is supporting the development of three further London clubs: Orly’s House in East Sheen, Leo’s House in Clapham and Olive’s House in Chiswick.

HCM reported in August that planning permission had been secured for the Clapham and Chiswick clubs, with all three new Houses scheduled to open during 2027. Each new location is expected to create up to 130 jobs.

OurHouse says it is also introducing an All Houses membership option, enabling members to use multiple clubs as the network grows.
